EAST PEORIA, IL. (FEBRUARY 10, 2020) —Illinois Central College continues working toward the success of all ICC students. The College is partnering with student success experts from InsideTrack to increase the effectiveness of our student support services. This initiative will help redesign the advising program at ICC to enhance support for underrepresented, under-prepared and part-time learners. This opportunity is made possible through a federal Title III grant designated to institutions serving large numbers of low-income individuals.
“ICC is a major driver of educational and economic opportunity in the region with a large number of our students receiving some form of financial aid and the lowest tuition rate of any institution in central Illinois,” said Dr. Sheila Quirk-Bailey, president of Illinois Central College. “Our partnership with InsideTrack is about unlocking the full potential of both our students and our staff by enhancing our capability to support students in successfully navigating obstacles to graduation.”
Professional coaches will use a blend of structured and on-demand engagement via voice, email and text messaging to support 400 ICC students in developing critical life skills, such as time and stress management, critical thinking and self-advocacy. Coaches will also help the students connect with and fully utilize campus resources, as well as develop an effective plan to complete their degree program.
ICC staff will also work closely with consultants to receive training and certification in InsideTrack’s proven coaching and quality assurance models to then leverage the insights gained through student coaching to build their own program. Furthermore, staff will be provided with organizational change support to facilitate ICC’s cultural transformation and ensure the long-term sustainability and scalability of the program.
ICC is looking forward to utilizing this collaboration with InsideTrack’s seasoned team of professional coaches, trainers and consultants and its national reputation for effectiveness in enhancing student enrollment, persistence, completion and career readiness.
